THE GULLS CAPTURE NS U15 AAA TITLE

The 2022/2023 NS U15 Major Gulls are coming into the 2023 Atlantic U15 Championship
after an incredible regular season and provincials run. The Gulls earned the NS U15 Major
League regular season championship with an outstanding 32-1 record and continued their
successful run by capturing the NS U15 Major League Provincials Championship on March 19,
2023.


The Gulls are led by Head Coach Robert Barrett, Assistant Coach Bradley Shaw, and Assistant
Coach Cody Grant, with Trainer Amanda Monk and Owner Kirk Tomlinson. Wearing the
leadership letters on the ice are Captain Tristan Turner and Assistant Captains Danny
Walters, Dylan Paplinskie, and Jacob Hartlin.


With their home rink located in Upper Tantallon, NS, the team consists of players from TASA
Minor Hockey Association and Chebucto Minor Hockey Association – member associations of
Hockey Nova Scotia.


A key to The Gulls’ success this season has been the team-centered approach taken by the
coaching staff and players alike. With depth in every position, the team has been able to face
challengers with skill and a determined work ethic, which shows in their 190 Goals For and 47
Goals Against regular season stats.


Some other stand-out achievements have also contributed to the team’s overall success this
season, including:
- 2023 Ice Jam Tournament Champions
- Four players in the top 10 regular season points standings
o Aaron Chipp (2 nd ) with 84 points
o Jacob Hartlin (3 rd ) with 74 points
o Danny Walters (5 th ) with 71 points
o Tristan Turner (9 th ) with 49 points
- Goalie duo (Chandler Bell, Kael Campbell) with regular season league-leading stats
o 1 st and 2 nd Goals Against Average
o 1 st and 2 nd Shutouts
o 1 st and 4 th Save %
o 1 st Most Wins
- NS U15 Major League Provincials Championship awards, including Top Defenceman
(Logan Foote).


While player injuries at times during the regular season presented challenges, The Gulls’ team
approach, skill, and work ethic has enabled the team to rise to all occasions.


The Gulls are extremely proud to represent Nova Scotia at the 2023 Atlantic U15
Championship and look forward to the great competition ahead with the other Atlantic
provincial champions.
