news2023-03-16

Prince Edward Island will play host to two regional hockey championships this season. The 2023 U15 “AAA” Atlantic Championship and the 2023 Maritime Junior “C” Hockey Championship are both slated to return to Island rinks this spring.

Following an extensive bid process, the Hockey PEI selection committees for both Minor and Junior hockey have selected their successful hosts for the highly profiled events.

The U15 AAA Atlantic Championship will take place from March 30th to April 2nd in the community of O’Leary. The Prince County Warriors Major Under-15 team were awarded the event and will host the U15 regional elite talent out of the O’Leary Cavendish Farms Arena while participants will get to enjoy accommodations and amenities at the top rated Mill River Resort.

In junior hockey action, the Maritime Junior “C” Hockey Championship has been awarded to the Sherwood Metros. The event will take place at the Cody Banks Arena in Sherwood-Parkdale from April 25th through 30th where participants will get to interact with everything the greater Charlottetown area has to offer.

Hockey PEI looks forward to collaborating with its hosts in the coming weeks and months ahead as it prepares to host its Atlantic and maritime neighbors on the regional championship stage.
